World Winter Games 2021 Management Team Confirmed

We are very pleased to announce the appointment of the management team for the Special Olympics New Zealand 2021 World Winter Games in Sweden.

“We were blown away by the standard of all applicants and it made it extremely difficult for the Sports sub-committee through the shortlisting and interview process. We had some challenging decisions to make, but are very excited about the calibre of the management team that will support our athletes,” Sports Director Gary Peacham said. “We have appointed some experienced coaches into the roles as well as some coaches we feel will move through the coaching pathway and be able to step into bigger roles at future events, and are able to offer to some development opportunities to those that missed out.”

The successful candidates are:

Head of Delegation: Grant Haskell (Pictured Left)

Assistant Head of Delegation: Steve Westcott (Pictured Right)

Head Coach: David Cowie

Coach: Adrian Caffell

Coach: Diane Redding

Coach: John Gilbert

Coach: Lynette Donaldson

Coach: Richard Mobbs

We are now working with Special Olympics Asia Pacific to finalise the athlete quota and we will be contacting clubs shortly for athlete nominations.
