Rosterfy is excited to announce that they have been selected as the volunteer management solution for The Special Olympics New Zealand National Summer Games 2021.

Special Olympics New Zealand offers sports training and competition for people with an intellectual disability. With 44 grassroots clubs and 1,587 volunteers, they currently support 5,199 athletes of all ages across the country.

The National Summer Games will require over 2,000 volunteer shifts across eight competition venues, throughout a five day event period, Special Olympics New Zealand are excited to be utilizing Rosterfy to better engage with and manage their volunteers.

“We want to run a really professional event and a big part of that is ensuring a great experience for our volunteers. From registration, right through to their experience at the event, we want our volunteers to feel valued and engaged from start to finish. We were looking for a system that enables us to be more efficient in managing the day to day volunteer shifts, saving time and money for our events team. That’s why we selected Rosterfy.” Asti Farrell, Event Director of the Special Olympics New Zealand.

While many of the volunteers will assist with the operational event delivery with roles encompassing everything from officials, marshalls and timekeepers the Special Olympics will also run over 5,000 free health screenings for people with intellectual disabilities, which will be facilitated by health professional volunteers who will also utilize the Rosterfy platform.

Working with a number of corporate and grassroots organizations to deliver the volunteers for the Games, Asti also commented on how she is excited to utilize Rosterfy’s Group Manager functionality to allow the team to effectively communicate and manage multiple stakeholders simultaneously.

“The team at Rosterfy is proud to be working alongside The Special Olympics Games 2021,” said Shannan Gove, Co Founder of Rosterfy. “We started Rosterfy with a mission to connect communities to events and causes they are passionate about and there aren’t many better examples of this than the Special Olympics.”

“After our experience as the volunteer management system for the Special Olympics World Games 2019 in Abu Dhabi, it’s great to see how we can now directly support the countries involved with their national games.  Volunteers are so critical to how Special Olympics operates throughout the word, so we hope Special Olympics New Zealand can be used as a shining example of how utilizing a system like Rosterfy benefits not only administrators but volunteers alike .” Shannan said.
