Athlete Selection Policy

Though we won’t have confirmation of the SONZ quota allocation until late April, we are moving ahead with our team selection process and are pleased to welcome nominations from all clubs who wish to support their Snowsports Athletes to attend and coaches who are interested in attending the WWG 2025.

All details are in the attached documentation.

We are also delighted to announce our New Zealand Team for the WWG 2025 will be led by Head of Delegation, Dave Cowie from the Southland club.  Dave will be known by many of you having been the Race Director for the past two National Winter Games.

SONZ were fortunate to receive strong applications for the HOD role and Dave’s vast experience in the South Island Snowsports programme, mixed with his day-to-day leadership in the Police was a stand-out for the selection panel. SONZ are excited to have Dave on board and look forward to him supporting us to select the remainder of the Team Management in the coming months.
