Nathaniel Tofts works for New World Supermarket in the bakery and looking after trollies. He has held this job for over 17 years.

He has been involved with Special Olympics since 2006 and has mainly competed in Basketball for his Special Olympics Wellington Club.

Meeting new people from other countries is what Nathaniel is hoping to achieve at the World Games in Abu Dhabi in 2019.

Helping those in his team who are less mobile than him, is something that Nathaniel most enjoys about Special Olympics.

Nathaniel’s dad and step mum are his role models and the people he most looks up to.

“They encourage me to be positive, play fair and don’t worry if we lose” says Nathaniel.

Nathaniel feels that life isn’t different since joining Special Olympics, but he has made many Special Olympics friends through his involvement.

Nathaniel enjoys listening to music, travelling and spending time with his dad and step mum.

Nathaniel doesn’t like using social media, he prefers to talk directly to his friends and family.
