Maureen McLeod

Special Olympics Rotorua athlete Maureen McLeod loves playing Football and is looking forward to going on the plane to Abu Dhabi.

Maureen has been with Special Olympics since 2008 and attended her first National Games in Palmerston North 2009. While Maureen is representing New Zealand at Football in Abu Dhabi she also keeps busy competing for Rotorua in Basketball, Bowling and Indoor Bowls.

Maureen currently volunteers at the Care Village where she has for the past 6 years however her world would be changed if it became a paid job.

When she is not volunteering or training in her Special Olympics sports you will find Maureen listening to music, watching DVDs and doing research on the Internet.

Being chosen to represent New Zealand for the World Summer Games in Abu Dhabi is something Maureen is most proud of and we are sure Maureen will make a lot of people proud of her when runs out onto the pitch in Abu Dhabi.
