Nathaniel Tofts

Nathaniel Tofts works for New World Supermarket, a job he has held for over 17 years. Working in the bakery and doing trollies.

He has been involved with Special Olympics since 2006 and has mainly competed in Basketball for his Special Olympics Wellington Club.

Meeting new people from other countries is what Nathaniel is hoping to achieve at the World Games in Abu Dhabi next year.

Helping those in his team who are less mobile than him, are things that Nathaniel most enjoys about Special Olympics.

Nathaniel’s dad and step mum are his role models and the ones he most looks up to.

“They encourage me to be positive, play fair and don’t worry is we loose” says Nathaniel is why they are his role models.

Nathaniel feels that life isn’t different since joining Special Olympics, but he has met and has lots of Special Olympics friends because of it.

He is most proud of what he has achieved during his time with the programme, being who he is, as well as getting his Driver’s Licence.

Nathaniel enjoys listening to music, travelling and spending time with his dad and step mum is how he likes to spend his time.

Interesting that young Nathaniel doesn’t like using Social Media, as he prefers to talk direct to his friends and family.
