Sean Tremlett

Nelson based, Sean Tremlett joined Special Olympics sometime over 10 years ago, and throughout his time has a long list of achievements and amazing memories with his friends and fellow athletes.

One of his proudest moments was being the captain of the New Zealand basketball team that went to Los Angeles in 2015, braving the heat at the World Summer Games. Being a part of the New Zealand team, the Nelson team and just being able to play basketball are all reasons why Sean has enjoyed his time with Special Olympics.

Being able to meet new people, to play with, or against, from around New Zealand is a privilege that Sean has thoroughly enjoyed and the reason he wanted to get involved in the Global Messengers programme.

Sean’s family has been a massive support to him, encouraging him to give everything a go. In his spare time, plays darts with his dad and works for his families business.
