Sue Rudduck

Sue Rudduck is an influential figure within Special Olympics North Otago. She has been actively involved with Special Olympics New Zealand since 1997 and has been Secretary and Treasurer of the North Otago Committee since 2003.

A brilliant administrator, Sue also Treasurer of the Lower South Island Regional Council, a position she has held for the past six years, and also Secretary for the Lower South Island Regional Council Snow Sports, a role that entails coordinating the annual snow sports week and weekend training trips.
Sue is devoted to Special Olympics North Otago’s athletes and has trained the Club’s aquatics and Alpine skiing teams for the past 15 years. She has taken athletes to out of town events and was Special Olympics North Otago’s Head of Delegation for the Regional Games in Dunedin in 2012.
She has represented New Zealand internationally attending the 2001 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Alaska, USA as Alpine skiing Head Coach, the 2003 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Ireland as Assistant Aquatics Coach, and was reserve coach for both the 2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Shanghai, China, and the 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Boise, Idaho, USA. Special Olympics North Otago owes a lot to Sue for her fundraising efforts in getting our teams to these events, and others.
Sue remains one of Special Olympics New Zealand’s most ardent supporters and we are proud to award her a Lifetime Membership.
